  7. The SNMP was designed for the management of multivendor heterogeneous
  8. TCP/IP-based Internets and has found widespread acceptance as the standard
  9. protocol in that arena.  In addition, the use of the SNMP is expanding to
  10. other protocol suites.  SNMP Research's network management application does
  11. interoperate with all conforming implementations.  It also supports SNMP
  12. Version 2 (SMP), the upgrade to SNMP.  SNMP Agent software provides queries
  13. and variable settings on a variety of computers and workstations.  X-Window
  14. multi system-based SNMP Manager Station software provides a graphical
  15. interface to SNMP queries.  It provides a realtime graphical display of
  16. network node and link status.  Users can use the mouse to pop up panels of
  17. information about a node or nodes.  The Xnetmon tool is especially oriented
  18. toward fault, configuration, and performance management.  SNMP Research
  19. provides source code license agreements for OEM applications.  Other license
  20. agreements are available for large corporate networks, academic networks, and
  21. government networks .Az These products were designed with portability in mind
  22. and have been ported to many environments including SCO ODT.
